Braces - High Speed Braces / 3 Month / 6 Month

There are a variety of ways that Dr. Allen at All Family Dentistry can help straighten his patient's teeth. Two common considerations are Invisalign and high speed braces. In order to determine which one may work best for a particular patient, Dr. Allen will first consult to determine what the patient wants and what they're looking for. Many patients are not looking to correct the bite in the back of their mouth, but are just focused on making the front of their smile look good. We focus on this, and offer the best solution for them. Many times, we suggest high speed braces.
High speed braces are worn anywhere from three to six months in order to adjust a smile. They are faster than Invisalign treatments, but do require the patients to wear brackets and arch wires, similar to traditional braces. However, unlike the elastic brackets used in traditional orthodontia, these brackets are more high tech from the standpoint that they get rid of the elastics (which were the weak point that slowed down progress) and adhere brackets that are self-ligating and actually lock the arch wire in. By doing that, we don't have to see the patient as often, and teeth will move a lot faster. With less monitoring than other straightening methods, it oftentimes makes it a more affordable option for the patient. While these may still appear more like traditional metal braces, they are faster and more effective at moving teeth quickly and effectively. Many patients will consider wearing braces for three months rather than undergo Invisalign treatments for fourteen months. The decision is up to the patient to determine which method better fits their lifestyle.
