Invisalign

A lot of our patients want straighter teeth to help improve their smile, but don't want to wear braces for several months or years in order to do so.  Invisalign is a way for patients to straighten their teeth without having to wear braces.  They look like a clear retainer that fits over your teeth in order to slowly readjust them into their proper place.  The technology has been around for a long time now, and they are continually improving it to make it better, faster, and more effective.  Patients that consider Invisalign are so happy with the results; they wonder why they didn't do it sooner!

Many teenagers like the Invisalign treatment because they are already self-conscious and overly aware of their appearance.  The idea of having traditional metal braces for several years is not very comforting for them.  Additionally, the Invisalign clear aligners have compliance detection built in to the appliances, so dentists and parents will know if their patients are wearing the retainers for 22 hours a day as required.  This allows parents to track their child's progress and ensure they are complying with the treatment.

Invisalign treatment starts with numerous aligners that are created digitally to be worn for two weeks at a time. During the course of treatment, teeth will slowly be pushed with gentle force into the proper place. The clear aligners are worn during the day (except when eating or brushing your teeth) and overnight, and are removable for easy cleaning and care.

Invisalign treatments are typically done from start to finish much faster than traditional metal orthodontia. The average Invisalign treatment takes approximately 14 months to complete from the initial consultation to the finished look.
